Job summary

William Jackson Food Group is looking for a Day Warehouse Supervisor (Ambient) to lead the ambient section of the day shift. You will drive safe, efficient operations, manage stock control and coach the team to deliver quality output in line with procedures.

You will oversee health and safety, food safety, and product quality, implement rotations, and ensure timely communication and development plans for your staff, with a focus on continuous improvement and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory experience in a warehouse environment.
• IOSH certification is desirable.
• Knowledge of key performance indicators.
• Proficiency with MS Office such as Word and Excel and warehouse management systems (Dynamics365 is highly desirable).
• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and coach others.

Responsibilities

• Health and Safety, Food Safety and Product Quality: ensure standards of health, safety, hygiene and security are achieved at all times.
• Health and Safety, Food Safety and Product Quality: ensure HSE and legislation requirements are adhered to.
• Process: manage stock rotation using FIFO principles to minimise waste and out-of-date stock.
• Process: conduct accurate daily stock checks and ensure reconciliation and escalation processes are followed.
• Process: optimise stock availability and handover to night shift team.
• People Responsibility: ensure mandatory training schedules are in place and delivered on time.
• People Responsibility: conduct a daily team briefing to communicate required information.
• People Responsibility: support a professional recruitment process.
• People Responsibility: ensure appraisals and development plans are in place.
• People Responsibility: develop an environment of respect and accountability.
