Job summary

Voyage Care is seeking a Support Worker in Chard to help adults with learning disabilities, autism or brain injury live more independently. The role involves supporting daily living, personal care and participation in activities within a residential setting in a peaceful rural environment.

Typical shifts run 08:00–20:30, three shifts per week with alternate weekends. Benefits include enhanced pay for evenings/weekends and overtime, Wagestream access, and a range of wellbeing perks.

Support Worker – Chard - -£13.56 up to £15.06 with overtime and evening/weekend enhancements (Ts & Cs apply)

Typical Shifts are: 08:00 - 20:30 working 3 shifts a week including alternate weekends

We're on the hunt for genuinely caring, hands-on Support Workers with a passion for enhancing the quality of life of the people we support. As a Support Worker with us you'll be helping people to gain more independence in their daily lives, whilst working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people!

Our residential service set in a peaceful rural environment in Chard and is welcoming and friendly. We support adults with a variety of communication needs as a result of either a severe learning disability, autism or traumatic brain injury. You can be sure that no two days will be the same! You'll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging them to prepare their own meals, socialising and doing lots of different activities.

This is an amazing role for someone who is looking to really make a difference to someone's life and to help them grow in confidence and independence so that they meet their goals, whether this be making dinner by themselves or going on holiday.

We're interested in our Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Support Workers should be resilient, flexible and composed in their approach, have experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice as well as experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviour's of distress, mental health conditions and people who have experienced trauma.
