Job summary

Voyage Care’s Headway accredited ABI Gloucester service provides long-term specialist care in a welcoming environment. You will help people with everyday tasks, encourage independence and community involvement, and support them in achieving personal goals.

The role involves teaching life skills, assisting with personal care, and accompanying them to activities and appointments. A full UK driving licence is preferred for community outings.

Qualifications

• Hold a full UK driving licence.
• Be resilient, flexible and composed in approach.
• Experience with Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice.
• Experience working with individuals with autism, acquired brain injury, complex mental health needs or challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
• Help individuals develop life skills and access local communities.
• Support participation in activities and socialisation.
• Accompany individuals to appointments, meals out, cinema, etc.

Typical Shifts are: 08:00 - 15:00 and 15:00 - 22:00 on a rota Monday - Sunday

Our Headway accredited ABI (Acquired Brain Injury) service Gloucester provides long term specialist care. It has a welcoming and friendly environment and you can be sure that no two days will be the same! You’ll be enhancing the lives of the people we support by teaching them new life skills, assisting with personal care, encouraging them to access their local communities, socialising and doing lots of activities. One day you could be out with the people we support in local restaurants and attending appointments, the next you could be unwinding with them watching films or going to the cinema.

This is an amazing role for someone who is looking to really make a difference to someone's life and to help them grow in confidence and independence so that they meet their goals, whether this be making dinner by themselves or going on holiday.

We’re interested in our Support Workers having both the right experience and the right values. This is why at this service our Support Workers should hold a full UK driving license, be resilient, flexible and composed in their approach, have experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice as well as experience working with individuals with autism, acquired brain injury, complex individuals with mental health needs, traumatic backgrounds and challenging behaviours.
