Job summary

Cencora is seeking a Team Leader Logistics & Transportation in Birmingham to drive daily operational targets within the Central Logistics Centre, supporting Alliance Healthcare. The role is a day shift from 6:00am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

You will lead and develop the transport team, manage LCV/HGV loading, ensure GDP and SOP compliance, deliver training, and maintain high safety and service standards while controlling transport costs within budget.

Qualifications

• Strong time management and ability to prioritise tasks.
• Knowledge of warehouse, transport and distribution processes.
• Familiarity with security, audit, and compliance processes.
• Ability to use initiative within set boundaries.
• Proficient in Microsoft tools including 365, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Teams.
• Understanding and compliance with GDP principles.
• An awareness of health and safety regulations and best practices within the transport and logistics sector.

Responsibilities

• Lead health and safety agenda for the site.
• Control transport operational costs within budget.
• Drive daily performance of operatives to meet targets.
• Report transport failures and monitor corrective actions.
• Manage loading of LCVs and HGVs for on-time departures.
• Implement daily rota plans and escalate concerns.
• Maintain standards: security, paperwork, housekeeping, health & safety.
• Ensure GDP & SOP compliance, deliver trainings as directed.
• Lead team briefings and maintain effective communication.
• Foster inclusive team environment and value diversity.
• Support Driver Team Manager in achieving objectives.
• Ensure customer deliveries meet standards; resolve issues promptly.
