Job summary

Wagstaff Recruitment Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a family-run food manufacturer in Leicestershire for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (days only). The role offers a 3 on 3 off shift pattern with 12-hour days and a salary around £50,170.56 plus benefits.

You will diagnose and fix electrical and mechanical faults, perform planned maintenance, and support production to minimise downtime, working in a collaborative engineering team.

Qualifications

• Qualified in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• Confident electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience in food manufacturing is welcome but not essential.
• PLC knowledge is useful but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults in food processing equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns with production teams to minimise downtime.
• Carry out planned maintenance to prevent recurring problems.
• Identify and implement improvements to equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Record maintenance activity and maintain spare-parts records.
• Work safely and maintain high engineering and housekeeping standards.
