Job summary

Vale of Glamorgan Council is seeking a role in Barry to support adults with learning disabilities in meaningful day opportunities both in the community and at the service base.

You will be involved in driving duties to transport individuals to activities, and you will assist with personal care and health needs while maintaining records and preparing reports. The post is a 35-hour per week role, based in Barry (Woodlands and Trysor O’Le).

Qualifications

• Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities.
• Full valid driving licence covering manual vehicles and willingness to drive wheelchair adapted vehicles.
• Ability to meet personal care needs and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with learning disabilities to participate in meaningful day opportunities.
• Drive wheelchair-adapted vehicles and transport individuals to activities as per plans.
• Attend to personal care and health needs; maintain records and compile reports.
