Job summary

Vale of Glamorgan Council in Barry is seeking a Support Worker for Learning Disability Day Services to help adults with a learning disability access meaningful day opportunities in the community and at the service base.

You will drive individuals to activities, assist with personal care and health needs, maintain records and contribute to reports, ensuring person-centred plans are followed. 35 hours, Monday to Friday, salary aligns with Grade 4 SCP 6-7.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with Adults with Learning Disabilities
• Experience driving large vehicles; willing to drive wheelchair-adapted vehicles
• Full valid driving licence covering use of manual vehicles
• Experience meeting individuals’ personal care needs
• Good general education level
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Reliable, flexible and sensitive

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with a learning disability to participate in meaningful day opportunities.
• Drive to safely transport individuals to activities per person-centred plans.
• Attend to the personal care and health needs of individuals.
• Maintain records and help to compile reports.
