Job summary

Witham Prospect School is seeking Day Residential Support Workers to support children and young people with Severe Learning Disabilities, Autism and Complex Care. You will work an average of 38.5 hours per week on a three-week rolling rota, with early shifts (7.00am – 2.30pm, 7.00am – 3.30pm) and late shifts (2.00pm – 10.00pm).

A full training day is included every three weeks. Pay rate is £13.49-£13.83 per hour, depending on qualification.

• Support workers must be enthusiastic, dedicated and caring to help children and young people with complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Support children and young people to meet their needs according to individual care plans and positive behaviour support plans.
• Promote choice, independence, dignity, privacy and rights.
• Maintain a safe, caring environment and assist with domestic duties.
• Work with the staff team to safeguard the children and young people in our care.
• Support learning during residential, leisure and educational activities.
• Assist with managing challenging behaviour using approved strategies.
