Job summary

Withamprospect in Norton Disney is seeking dedicated Day Residential Support Workers for full-time positions. The role involves working with children who have severe learning disabilities and autism, providing care and support within a nurturing environment.

Job description

Day Residential Support Workers (Full Time)

Witham Prospect School is looking to appoint Day Residential Support Workers who are enthusiastic, dedicated, caring and highly motivated to support children and young people who have Severe Learning Disabilities, Autism and Complex Care to achieve their full potential.

Day Residential Support Workers – working on average of 44.3 hours per week.

To work on a two-week full time rolling rota on 12 hour shifts between the hours of (8.00am – 8.00pm). Your rota will include one full day for training every three weeks.

Day Residential Support Workers – working on average of 38.5 hours per week.

To work on a three-week rolling rota, with a combination of early shifts between the hours of (7.00am – 2.30pm, 7.00am – 3.30pm) and late shifts (2.00pm – 10.00pm). Your rota will include one full day for training every three weeks.

Pay Rate for Support Workers: £13.49 – £13.83 per hour depending on your qualification.

Note: Please kindly note that Witham Prospect School has frozen the Skilled Worker Sponsorship Scheme, as such the organisation will not be able to sponsor any candidate who is requiring to be sponsored.

  • Professional Health Services for Injuries sustained at work (subject to satisfying criteria as set out in the staff absence policy).

Responsibilities for the Care Role Includes:

  • To support the children and young people to meet their needs in the most appropriate way by following individual care plans and positive behaviour support plans set by our highly qualified therapist team.
  • Promote children and young people’s choice, independence, dignity, privacy and fulfilment of other rights.
  • Maintain a stable, happy and caring environment that puts the health, safety and welfare of our children and young people first, this will involve domestic duties.
  • Working with the staff team across all settings to always safeguard the children and young people in our care.
  • Actively promote learning during all programmes and activities during residential, leisure and educational situations.
  • Effectively support the children/young people and staff to manage challenging behaviour as and when this arises, using the approved approaches defined within their Positive Behaviour Support plan and Sherwood training.
