Job summary

Meridian Business Support is hiring a dedicated Support Worker for a day centre in Stoke-on-Trent. You will provide hands-on support, assist with personal care, and help service users participate in activities in indoor and outdoor settings.

The role requires NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) and prior care experience. You’ll work Monday to Friday, 8:50 AM to 4:30 PM, delivering compassionate, person-centred care within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent) is essential.
• Previous experience in a care or support work setting.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Caring, patient and reliable approach.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals to participate and fully engage in indoor and outdoor activities.
• Support service users on days out and activities within the local community.
• Provide personal care where required.
• Assist with food and support service users with eating.
• Support individuals with specialist requirements, including PEG feeding where required.
• Use mobility aids and equipment to safely support, lift and move service users.
• Carry out duties delegated by the Manager or Team Leader within your skills and competence.
• Promote independence, dignity and choice at all times.
