Job summary

South Lanarkshire Council in East Kilbride is seeking Day Centre Officers to support adults with learning disabilities. The role involves promoting independence, developing skills and enabling participation in educational, social and recreational activities.

You will work as part of a supportive team, delivering person-centred programmes and assisting with personal care. The post requires health/social care experience and willingness to learn, with opportunities for training and development.

Qualifications

• Essential: SVQ Level 2 or 3 in Social Care, HNC in Social Care, or willingness to work towards.
• Essential: Experience working in a health or social care environment.
• Essential: Experience supporting individuals with personal care needs.

Responsibilities

• Support ongoing assessment and review of individual programmes.
• Assist service users in planning and achieving personal goals.
• Maintain accurate records of progress.
• Participate in regular service user reviews.
• Deliver and support educational, vocational, social and recreational programmes.
• Provide support with personal care as required.
• Work with families, social work staff and external organisations.
• Promote access to community facilities and opportunities.
