Job summary

Metroline Manchester is seeking a Bus Cleaner to join the Engineering team at the Tameside depot. This part-time role offers 20 hours per week with shifts 9:30am–1:30pm, Monday to Friday, providing essential cleaning across bus fleets and supporting daily operations.

Responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness, operating cleaning equipment, and ensuring COSHH compliance while delivering reliable service to colleagues and the Greater Manchester community.

Qualifications

• The candidate should possess or be willing to obtain a suitable qualification (e.g. NVQ level 1).
• A driving licence (preferably PCV) would be desirable or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Keeping the relevant work area clean and tidy and to clean up spillages in accordance with Metroline’s Health and Safety policy and procedure.
• Washing exterior of all buses by use of automatic bus wash and to wash wheels and skirt panels by hand.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of company vehicles to a high standard using mechanical, electrical and manual cleaning equipment.
• Maintaining records and documents up to date as required by Metroline.

We’re Metroline Manchester, the newest addition to the Bee Network, buzzing in Greater Manchester since January 2025!

Job Summary

Location: Tameside

Hours: 9.30am – 1.30pm, Mon – Fri

Pay: £13.46 per hour (Mon-Fri)

This role is perfect for someone looking to work part time 20 hours per week around other commitments ie education and childcare, we can also provide some flexibility around start and finish times. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in delivering an excellent service for colleagues, stakeholders, and the wider Greater Manchester community. Responding proactively and appropriately to the requirements of the depot management team with a natural flair of providing support and guidance and going ‘the extra mile ’.

As a Bus Cleaner within our Engineering department you will have the following responsibilities:

Hours of Work

Permanent part time contract – 20 hours per week (4 hours per day Monday to Friday)
