Responsibilities

• Create, configure, and tune DLP policies to support data protection requirements.
• Monitor and investigate DLP alerts and data security incidents.
• Analyse potential data loss events and determine remediation actions.
• Manage and troubleshoot DLP-related issues across business and user environments.
• Support data protection compliance activities and audits.
• Configure and maintain DLP technologies including Zscaler DLP, Symantec DLP, Proofpoint, and MIP/Purview.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve data security issues.
• Respond promptly to business needs during working hours.
• Identify opportunities to improve DLP controls and processes.
• Document investigations, policy changes, incidents and remediation activities.
• Collaborate with technical and business teams to address data security risks.

Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Data Security Analyst with 5 - 10 years of experience in Data Security and Data Loss Prevention (DLP). The successful candidate will provide strong hands‑on expertise across DLP technologies, including Zscaler DLP, Symantec DLP, Proofpoint, and Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) / Purview, while supporting data protection, compliance, incident investigation, and stakeholder requirements.

What you will do:

• Create, configure, and tune DLP policies to support data protection requirements.
• Monitor and investigate DLP alerts and data security incidents.
• Analyse potential data loss events and determine appropriate remediation actions.
• Manage and troubleshoot DLP‑related issues across business and user environments.
• Support data protection compliance activities and audit requirements.
• Configure and maintain DLP technologies, including Zscaler DLP, Symantec DLP, Proofpoint, and MIP/Purview.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve data security issues.
• Respond promptly to business and user requirements during working hours.
• Identify opportunities to improve DLP controls, processes, and overall data security.
• Document investigations, policy changes, incidents, and remediation activities as required.
• Collaborate with relevant technical and business teams to address data security risks and requirements.

Qualifications

• Bring 5 - 10 years of experience within Data Security and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
• Possess strong hands‑on experience with DLP technologies such as Zscaler DLP, Symantec DLP, Proofpoint, and Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) / Purview.
• Demonstrate proven experience in DLP policy creation, configuration, and tuning.
• Offer solid expertise in DLP alert and incident investigation.
• Have experience supporting data protection compliance and audit activities.
• Demonstrate strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and issue‑resolution capabilities.
• Bring previous experience working within banking or financial services environments, preferably in a regulated setting.
• Possess experience working within regulated environments and managing associated data protection requirements.
• Have Python or Java development skills, which would be advantageous.
• Exhibit strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate and resolve complex data security issues.
• Communicate effectively and manage stakeholder relationships across business and technical teams.
• Be able to work on a PAYE through an umbrella company basis.
