Job summary

A Chelmsford-based secondary school is seeking an experienced School Data Manager to oversee pupil information across the school's MIS, ensuring accuracy for assessments, attendance reporting and school improvement planning.

You will coordinate data collection, prepare reports for senior leaders and staff, maintain class lists and census submissions, and safeguard data in line with data protection procedures. An enhanced DBS is required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience managing data within a secondary school is essential.
• Strong Excel skills and experience using a school MIS such as SIMS or Arbor.
• An enhanced DBS will be required.

Responsibilities

• Managing and maintaining pupil records within the school's management information system.
• Coordinating pupil data collection and checking submissions for accuracy.
• Preparing assessment and attainment reports for senior leaders and teaching staff.
• Supporting the production of pupil reports for parents.
• Maintaining class lists, timetables and pupil group information.
• Supporting the administration of assessment cycles.
• Monitoring data deadlines and following up missing information.
• Producing spreadsheets and analysing pupil performance information.
• Supporting census returns and other required school data submissions.
• Liaising with departments to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintaining data confidentiality and following data protection procedures.
• Supporting the leadership team with information used for school improvement.
