Job summary

Thames Water is looking for a proactive Data Protection Administrator to support day‑to‑day operations in the Data Protection function. The role covers queries, records, trackers and information requests, joining a collaborative team to safeguard data and respond swiftly.

Based in Swindon, you’ll work Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week, on a fixed-term contract/secondment for 3 months. A competitive salary is offered with a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Experience in customer facing roles.
• Excellent time management and ability to multitask.
• Previous experience in an administrative role.
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming emails and correspondence, directing queries appropriately.
• Maintain accurate records and databases per company policies.
• Log and maintain data protection trackers (SAR and EIR).
• Extract and combine information for information requests.
• Collaborate with the wider team to manage risks, complaints or data breaches.
• Support production of data protection standards and guidance documents.
• Respond to data protection queries.
• Action requests for calls.
