Job summary

STRAT7 is seeking a Data Processing Team Lead to support high-quality survey data outputs across the business. You'll combine hands-on technical work with leadership, guiding the data processing lifecycle and building team capability.

You will produce data tables in Excel using Askia Analyse, prepare raw data files (SPSS, Excel, CSV), mentor junior staff, and drive process improvements with a focus on automation and efficiency. A proactive, collaborative approach and strong QA are essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience with data processing skills within Market Research or any other relevant industry.
  • Demonstrable experience in complex, programmatic data transformations, including the creation of derived variables from existing datasets and the application of robust, best‑practice data checking and validation procedures.
  • Confidence in authoring and maintaining data processing syntax to support efficient, repeatable workflows, with the ability to train and upskill others in its effective use.
  • A highly proactive and detail‑oriented approach to quality assurance, with the ability to independently validate outputs against supplied materials (including data specifications and questionnaires), resolve issues where possible, and clearly document or escalate discrepancies prior to delivery of data tables or raw data files.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy, using own initiative to progress work while recognising when to seek guidance or escalation where appropriate.
  • Strong problem‑solving and creative thinking skills, with the ability to identify issues, propose practical solutions, and support the work of others to achieve high‑quality outcomes.
  • Act as a role model within a managerial position, consistently demonstrating best practice and effective ways of working.
  • A collaborative mindset, actively encouraging teamwork and best practice through clear, effective communication and the sharing of ideas across the group.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement, with the confidence to suggest enhancements to existing processes, tools, or ways of working.

  • Collaborate with the Scripting and Data Processing Leads to deliver flagship and high‑complexity projects, contributing expertise across the full data processing lifecycle and authoring supporting documentation and best‑practice materials
  • Proactively identify, design, and help implement process improvements across the Data Processing function, with a particular focus on automation, efficiency, and scalability of data outputs
  • Provide day‑to‑day mentoring, guidance, and quality oversight to junior and less experienced team members, supporting capability building, knowledge sharing, and consistent delivery standards

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Data Lead, the Data Processing Team Lead plays a key role in supporting the delivery of high‑quality survey data outputs across the business.
