Job summary

Itchyfeet Recruitment Agency is seeking a Data Protection Specialist to support the Data Protection Officer by implementing specific data privacy strategies in line with local legislation. This full-time role is based in Jersey and focuses on assessing privacy changes, gaps, and requirements; compiling reports to guide risk mitigation for clients and the organisation.

You will maintain governance processes, handle DSARs/ROPAs/DPIAs, and inform stakeholders on best practices while ensuring policy

Qualifications

• First Degree in IT or Law preferred; postgraduate degree advantageous.
• Data Protection Practitioner qualification required.
• 3-5 years of extensive knowledge in data privacy, preferably in financial institutions.
• Strong experience applying audit knowledge to drive continuous improvement in data privacy.
• Excellent communication, confidentiality, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, implement and enhance governance processes to align with regulatory and compliance policies.
• Inform and advise stakeholders by disseminating best practice data privacy advice.
• Investigate, analyse, and interpret system information to provide reporting tools support.
• Analyse and interpret the Data Privacy strategy to formulate business requirements.
• Manage and oversee day‑to‑day business operations related to data subject rights.
• Support the Data Protection Officer in operationalising the incident management plan.
• Collaborate with data privacy teams, product owners, and IT to mitigate compliance issues.
• Provide reports on assessments and audit trails as per compliance regulations.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to keep them informed about inquiries and system changes.
• Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of the Data Privacy and Protection Policy Framework.
