Job summary

A&O Shearman in Belfast is recruiting a Paralegal – Data Privacy Analyst to join the Data Privacy Team. You will help support the team's AI governance and data protection initiatives, engaging with stakeholders across the firm.

The role focuses on gathering, analyzing and reporting data to support advisory work, maintaining records for GDPR compliance, and helping prepare communications and training materials for the global Data Privacy Programme.

Qualifications

• A law degree is required.
• Excellent IT skills, including PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience in a professional environment.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Collaborative in a small team.
• Genuine interest in data privacy, cyber and AI.

Responsibilities

• Support the Data Privacy Team's work, including AI governance and data governance programme.
• Gather, analyse and interpret data to support advisory and operational work, including handling data subject requests.
• Maintain and report documentation for GDPR compliance and demonstrate compliance.
• Manage and maintain privacy software for GDPR compliance and record-keeping.
• Triaging requests and assisting team as needed.
• Contribute to development of global data privacy policies and pro-forma documentation.
• Maintain regulatory registration and notification requirements.
• Prepare communications, presentations, and training materials for the Data Privacy Team and others.
• Support the global privacy compliance programme.
• Coordinate logs, records and trackers to support decision-making.
