Connells Group in Milton Keynes seeks a Data Platform Engineer to join the Group Technology team. You will deliver the Connells Group Data Platform, involving design, capacity, management and configuration management.

Work with a team of specialists and third-party providers to mature processes for secure, scalable cloud data platforms. The role emphasizes platform as code, agile development, and proactive monitoring.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience in similar technical roles.
• Experience with incident resolution, requests, changes and problems in SLAs.
• Experience implementing Cloud Technologies.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Experience managing SQL Server.
• Strong team communication and idea sharing.
• Willingness to learn and adopt best practices.

Responsibilities

• Have expertise around the Data Platform capability.
• Maintain the Data Platform for Connells users, managing downtime and risk of disruption.
• Conduct root cause analysis and resolution of incidents.
• Provide out-of-hours support as required for operations.
• Deliver Platform as Code.
• Apply Agile methodologies for platform development.
• Follow Cloud Platform design patterns to implement observability.
• Manage platform capacity and performance.
• Support projects where appropriate.
• Proactively monitor and respond to escalations from IT teams.
• Collaborate with other team members.
