Connells Group is seeking a Core Data Engineer in Milton Keynes to deliver reporting data across brands, shaping architecture, modelling data and building robust pipelines in collaboration with reporting engineers.

You will join a team of data engineers, work in a hybrid model with one day per week in Milton Keynes, and help drive data strategy across the group.

Strong Python, Spark, SQL and Delta Lake experience is essential, with a passion for reliable data solutions and timely insights.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Data Engineering, with hands-on Python, Data Modelling, Data Warehousing.
• Experience with Spark, Data Architecture, SQL and Delta Lake.
• Experience with Medallion Architecture.
• Experience with data pipelines and CI/CD.
• Strong communication and ability to work under pressure.
• Certifications in Data Engineering, Cloud, Data Modelling or Data Architecture.
• STEM degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with Fabric, Azure, JIRA, Confluence, GitHub and Git Actions.

Responsibilities

• Apply best practices for data design, ensuring scalable, high‑quality architecture and modelling.
• Provide timely root‑cause analysis and resolution within SLA timeframes.
• Collaborate to build a unified team work plan aligned with objectives and data initiatives.
• Define, develop and enhance the Common Data Model with Reporting Engineers.
• Ensure alignment with data strategy and scalability; optimise data flow, security.
