Job summary

North East Scotland College is seeking a Data Payroll Assistant to join its People Services team at Aberdeen City Campus. You will maintain employee information across HR and payroll systems, produce workforce reports, and provide flexible support across HR and Payroll.

The role requires strong numerical and analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proficient Excel. Experience with confidential data and HR/payroll reporting is essential, with ability to meet fixed deadlines.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification at SCQF Level 6 or above, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Understanding of data quality, confidentiality and data protection.
• Understanding of workforce information and common measures such as headcount, FTE, absence and turnover.
• Awareness of employee lifecycle and payroll processes.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Relevant data or payroll qualification.
• Knowledge of payroll requirements including PAYE, National Insurance and statutory payments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain employee information across HR and payroll systems.
• Produce workforce reports and present findings to managers.
• Process employee and payroll changes.
• Provide cover across Payroll and HR Assistant teams during absences and peak workload.
• Work with Senior HR Business Partners, Payroll Officers and Finance colleagues to improve workforce reporting and processes.
