An exciting opportunity has arisen for a self-driven and experienced individual to lead the non-financial Regulatory Reporting data function within Admiral UK. The Data Operations Manager for Regulatory Reporting will manage multiple data teams and play a key role in ensuring accurate, complete, and timely regulatory reporting. This leadership role requires technical expertise, excellent team management and leadership qualities, exceptional communication skills to influence stakeholders and lead cross-functional initiatives, and deliver first-class service with operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

The role is based in the UK and offers hybrid work flexibility, with weekly travel to our Cardiff head office or Swansea office.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Be the data lead for non-financial regulatory reporting within Admiral and provide expert advice on regulatory reporting standards.
  2. Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Data Managers & Data Analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.
  3. Design and implement controls to ensure our non-financial regulatory reporting is timely, accurate, complete and that regulatory compliance is maintained.
  4. Implement, maintain and document applicable non-financial regulatory interpretations.
  5. Prepare and present papers/insights to working groups and/or committees.
  6. Coordinate internal and external audit reviews related to regulatory reporting, address audit findings, and implement corrective measures as needed.
  7. Identify potential reporting risks and establish appropriate controls to mitigate those risks. Ensure compliance with internal governance frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  8. Oversee the successful migration of Admiral’s Complaints data to Google Cloud Platform, and lead transforming how the business gains insight from it (Excel to self-serve Looker dashboard suite).
  9. Drive increased efficiencies through process improvement and automation.
  10. Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, in particular the Risk, Operations, and Business areas through a Business Partnering operating model.
  11. Work with the Head of Customer & Conduct to understand upcoming non-financial regulatory changes and ensure that the reporting team is equipped to implement these either through change initiatives or larger projects and programs.

This is an excellent opportunity to shape the future of Admiral’s non-financial regulatory reporting and transform how Admiral engages with and consumes customer complaints data. Knowledge of regulatory reporting within the insurance or financial services sector would be advantageous, but candidates with excellent leadership skills and experience of regulatory reporting within a bank or building society will also be considered.

What We Are Looking For
  1. Experience in regulatory reporting within the insurance or financial services sector. Proven record of delivering to non-negotiable, regulatory deadlines.
  2. Proven track record of managing projects and data teams, demonstrating strong leadership and organizational skills.
  3. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and regulatory requirements.
  4. Experience with cloud-based technologies and/or enterprise visualization tooling.
  5. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  6. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
