Job summary

Roche Welwyn is seeking a Data Modeling Expert to join the newly formed Computational Sciences Center of Excellence. You will shape data models, ontologies and standards to ensure FAIR, high-quality data across REDs, enabling AI/ML and data-driven science within a global pharma context.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in a scientific or technical field.
• Experience in Data Governance, Data Standards, Data Modeling, Ontology Development, or related fields.
• Proficiency in one or more scientific or data domains and ability to lead initiatives.
• Exceptional communicator with strong networking in a matrixed org.
• Experience in a Research & Development setting with data handling knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key SME on data modeling, ontologies, semantics, and standards.
• Translate complex scientific requirements into draft data models for wider use.
• Contribute to development of data models and information architecture solutions.
• Drive AI/readiness strategies and data policy collaboration within the team.
• Support data quality tracking and governance initiatives across REDs.
