Job summary

Roche is seeking a Data Modeling Expert for the newly formed Computational Sciences Center of Excellence (CoE) in Welwyn. Based onsite, you will lead data modeling, ontologies, and data standards, collaborating with R&D to enable AI-ready data assets and robust governance.

You will shape data architectures, ensure data quality, and drive FAIR principles across REDs, partnering with informatics and engineering colleagues in a matrixed environment.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in a scientific or technical field.
• Experience in Data Governance, Data Standards, Data Modeling or Ontology Development.
• Excellent communicator with strong networking capabilities in a matrixed organization.
• Experience in a Research & Development organization and data handling workflows.

Responsibilities

• Act as a SME on data modeling, ontologies, semantics, and standards.
• Translate scientific requirements into draft data models for the FAIR data program.
• Contribute to data models, standards, and information architecture solutions.
• Drive AI data readiness and related policies in partnership with the team.
• Support data quality tracking and governance to ensure data is FAIR and usable.
• Promote a OneRoche data-centric mindset across the team.
