Job summary

Pertemps Managed Solutions is recruiting a Data Management Officer on a fixed-term contract in Cardiff. The role supports a Protected Sites Programme, focusing on data quality, reporting and system improvements while working in a hybrid setup.

£17.54 per hour, 37 hours a week, Mon-Fri | Hybrid Working (Cardiff) | Contract until 31st March 2027

We're recruiting on behalf of a public sector organisation for a Data Management Officer to support a high-profile Protected Sites Programme. This role will play a key part in managing and improving data that supports the protection and management of environmentally important sites across Wales.

Working within a specialist asset management system, you'll be responsible for maintaining data quality, supporting users, producing reports and insights, and contributing to ongoing system improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop the Protected Sites database, ensuring data accuracy, integrity and completeness.
• Produce and distribute reports, performance metrics and external data outputs.
• Develop and enhance reporting capabilities using Power BI.
• Undertake data quality assurance activities and work with stakeholders to resolve data issues.
• Provide user support, guidance and training.
• Review and update system documentation and user guidance.
• Monitor and help resolve system issues, working closely with ICT teams and suppliers.
• Support system enhancements, testing and user feedback through Azure DevOps (ADO).
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of data management processes and user experience.

About You

• Experience in data management, data administration or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of data quality and data governance principles.
• Experience producing reports and insights using Power BI.
• Excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
• Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) would be advantageous.
• Experience with AMX or similar asset management systems is desirable but not essential.
