Job summary

Sainsbury's Group is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to act as the Subject Matter Expert for personal data throughout the data lifecycle. You will ensure documentation is kept up to date and challenge stakeholders when information is unclear, maintaining GDPR compliance.

You will chair Data Clinic activities focused on Nectar data, review data requests, and drive action plans with the Business Data and Compliance Manager while ensuring adherence to current data policies.

Qualifications

• Typically educated to degree level.
• Experience of IT and business enabled change in a complex multi-stakeholder environment.
• High level understanding of Data Protection Act and GDPR.
• Experience in large organisations.

Responsibilities

• Chair Data Clinic, focusing on Nectar data and review project data governance requirements.
• Represent Data Governance in key meetings including Data Clinic and GDPR Transition Programme.
• Update and maintain documentation for Data Clinic.
• Review and approve use of data across business areas (access, security, transfer, retention).
• Identify shortfalls and define action plans with the Business Data and Compliance Manager.
• Maintain understanding of where data is used and how changes affect systems and third parties.
• Work with the Data Protection Officers and assist in data incident responses.
• Support the Data Governance Clinic strategy and deliver training across the group.
• Respond to ad-hoc data queries and report on Data KPIs.
