Job summary

Places for People is hiring a Data Engineering Manager to lead a team of 5–8 engineers in delivering robust data products and platforms. You will shape the technical strategy, drive governance and quality, and partner with stakeholders to align data initiatives with business goals.

In this agile environment you will guide architecture, mentoring, and delivery across GCP/AWS/Azure, ensuring scalable, reliable data solutions that support the organisation's mission and community focus.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in data engineering leadership at lead/principal level.
• Strong project management skills with Agile/Scrum experience.
• Experience delivering data platforms and products at scale.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of product development.
• Be a primary point of contact with Stakeholders and Product Owners.
• Oversee estimating and billing for all resources used.
• Provide timely and effective communication on progress or issues.
• Actively manage all risks, issues, and key decisions for your products.
• Identify and understand business requirements / strategic business drivers.
• Ensure quality and governance processes are followed and PfP standards are met.
• Lead, coach and develop a team to consistently deliver the highest standards of service required by the business.
