Places for People in the UK is hiring a Data Engineer to design, develop, and deliver data products within the Data and Platform Engineering team. You will work with Product Managers, Architects, and other Data Engineers to transform data from source to consumer models, using SQL, Python, DBT, and BigQuery in a modern cloud environment.

The role focuses on building robust data pipelines, collaborating across teams, and driving Data Mesh and Agile practices to deliver value quickly and reliably.

Qualifications

• Data engineering focused on ETL/ELT.
• SQL and Python proficiency.
• Experience with DBT, Git, Terraform, IAM, Composer (Airflow), Docker.
• GCP (BigQuery) experience preferred; Azure/AWS acceptable.
• Documentation, change management, CI/CD, and environment control.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver data products.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Architects, and other Data Engineers.
• Analyse requirements, document approach, and explain solutions.
• Improve existing data products and create new ones.
• Ensure robust, performant data pipelines.
