Job summary

Ocado Group is hiring a Data Engineer (Modelling & Transformation) for a hybrid role in Hatfield. You will build and optimise dimensional data models, implement automated data quality checks, and develop ELT/ETL pipelines using dbt and Python/SQL.

Join our Data Engineering Modelling and Transformation team to power analytics, reporting, ML, and partner data products across Ocado Technology, with exposure to Airflow, Terraform, and Grafana.

Qualifications

• Build and optimise dimensional and analytical data models to meet complex business reporting and analytics needs.
• Implement automated data quality checks, pipeline monitoring, and testing frameworks to ensure data reliability.
• dbt Proven experience developing ELT/ETL pipelines and working with data transformation frameworks such as dbt.
• Warehousing As a Data Engineer within our Data Engineering Modelling and Transformation team, you will be directly responsible for building and maintaining the foundational data warehouse that powers analytics, reporting, machine learning, and partner data products across Ocado Technology .
• Cost & performance Build and optimise dimensional and analytical data models to meet complex business reporting and analytics needs .
• Airflow / orchestration Experience using tools in our tech stack such as Airflow, Terraform, or Grafana .

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the foundational data warehouse powering analytics, reporting and ML across Ocado Technology.
• Develop and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines using dbt and manage data transformations across platforms.
