Job summary

Ocado Group requires a Data Engineer to join the Data Engineering Modelling and Transformation team. You will build and maintain the foundational data warehouse powering analytics, reporting, ML, and partner data products across Ocado Technology.

As part of an agile team, you will design reliable ELT/ETL pipelines, implement data quality checks, and optimise cloud-based data warehouse infrastructure to deliver trusted datasets for enterprise consumers.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building ELT/ETL pipelines and data transformation frameworks (dbt).
• Strong SQL skills and programming fundamentals in Python/SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and clear communication skills; collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the core data warehouse powering analytics, reporting and ML.
• Design, develop and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines across enterprise data solutions.
• Create dimensional/analytical data models for complex reporting needs.
• Develop reusable data transformation logic following software engineering best practices.
• Implement automated data quality checks, pipeline monitoring and testing frameworks.
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, product teams and platform engineers to deliver secure datasets.
• Monitor and optimise pipeline performance for efficiency and resilience.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards.
