Job summary

Ocado Group is seeking a Data Engineer in Hatfield to build and maintain a scalable data warehouse powering analytics and ML. You will design robust ELT/ETL pipelines, implement data quality checks, and collaborate with data scientists and analysts to deliver business-ready datasets.

The role emphasizes modern cloud warehouses (BigQuery-like environments), dimensional modelling, and automated testing within an Agile team. Hybrid working with strong collaboration is offered.

Qualifications

• Proven experience building ELT/ETL pipelines and data transformation frameworks (dbt preferred).
• Strong SQL skills and programming fundamentals (Python, SQL or similar).
• Hands-on experience with Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain core data warehouse powering analytics, reporting and ML.
• Design and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines across enterprise data solutions.
• Develop and maintain reusable data transformation logic using best practices in software engineering.
• Implement automated data quality checks, monitoring and testing frameworks.
