Job summary

Butcombe Group is seeking a hands-on Data Engineer for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will keep our reporting platform running smoothly while supporting migration from SQL Server to Snowflake, using SQL and Python to build reliable data pipelines across internal systems, third-party platforms, and APIs.

You will join the Data & Analytics team at a pivotal time, with opportunities to influence our approach and grow skills in Snowflake, analytics and AI, working in a hybrid setup with two

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and Python skills with experience building ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Good understanding of databases, data warehouses and data modelling.
• Experience integrating data from APIs and third-party systems.
• Familiarity with source control tools such as Git.
• Experience with Snowflake, Azure, cloud migrations or DevOps practices is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain SQL and Python-based ETL and ELT pipelines.
• Integrate data from internal systems, third-party platforms and APIs.
• Maintain existing SQL Server and support migration to Snowflake.
• Support data quality, modelling, governance, security and documentation.
• Investigate pipeline failures and resolve production data issues.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to turn reporting requirements into data solutions.
