Safestore is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build and maintain databases and scalable ELT/ETL pipelines supporting reporting and analytics. Hybrid work in Borehamwood with a £40,000 annual package. You will collaborate with data scientists and engineers to improve our data stack across branches.

The role emphasizes DataOps best practices, CI/CD, documentation, and data governance while solving complex data challenges and supporting business decision-making.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 1 year of experience in data engineering or related role.
• Proficient in Python programming.
• Strong SQL development and data querying skills.
• Experience designing, developing and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines in a production environment.
• Experience with cloud data warehousing (BigQuery).
• Understanding of data modelling principles and database design.
• Experience with DataOps and GitHub version control.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Aufgaben

• Design, build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform and deliver data.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data quality, data integration and performance issues.
• Identify optimal data storage solutions for new data sources.
• Ensure data solutions comply with security, governance and compliance requirements.
• Utilise version control and DataOps best practices, including code reviews and deployment automation.
• Contribute to CI/CD processes to support reliable deployment of data solutions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation relating to data architecture, pipelines and processes.
• Collaborate and pair-code with data engineers and data scientists.
