Job summary

AI Connect | Data & AI Delivery Partner is seeking a Data Engineer in London to build and maintain Python-based data processing workflows, delivering data to predictive models for energy trading decisions.

You will work closely with commercial, risk and technology teams, owning data pipelines and ensuring reliable workflow orchestration while interacting with business stakeholders to turn data into actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL and database knowledge.
• Understanding of data pipelines, transformations and workflow orchestration.
• Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Interest in predictive analytics, forecasting or data-driven decision-making.

Are you a Python-focused Data Engineer looking to work closer to the business, building data workflows that directly influence commercial decisions?

We're working with a growing business in the energy trading space to find a Data Engineer to help build and maintain the data infrastructure and ML capability behind energy trading decisions.

This is an opportunity to combine hands-on engineering with meaningful stakeholder interaction, working alongside commercial, risk and technology teams.

What you'll be doing:

• Building and maintaining Python-based data processing workflows.
• Developing data pipelines to ingest, transform and deliver data into predictive models.
• Managing dependencies between models and ensuring workflows run reliably.
• Working with SQL, databases and cloud-based infrastructure.
• Supporting the delivery of analytical outputs to commercial stakeholders.
• Troubleshooting issues and improving data processes in a fast-paced environment.

What we're looking for:

We're particularly interested in people with around 1–3 years of relevant experience, although the right foundations and attitude matter most.

You’ll need to be proactive, comfortable asking questions, confident communicating with non-technical stakeholders and able to adapt when priorities change.

This isn't a role where you'll spend all your time working quietly in the background. You’ll be close to the people using your work, helping turn data and analytical models into commercially valuable insights.
