Job summary

Whitbread PLC in the United Kingdom is seeking a Technical Product Lead to drive data product strategy and partner with Technical Product Managers and senior stakeholders. You will develop, enhance and optimise data products to provide meaningful insights and support strategic decision-making.

You will lead engineers on project initiatives, prioritise backlogs, and drive adoption of data products across the business while working with teams across Data & Analytics to maximise value from Power BI

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of business intelligence and data products.
• Knowledge of data structures, operational processes and reporting solutions.
• Good understanding of business strategy and how data supports organisational objectives.
• Awareness of systems architecture and core business systems.
• Understanding of data science principles and predictive analytics in decision-making.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical, modelling and data visualisation skills using Excel, SQL and Power BI.
• Experience designing and developing BI solutions and data products.
• Strong backlog management and prioritisation skills.
• Project management capability with multiple priorities.
• Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
• Experience working in agile delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of data product strategies that deliver measurable business improvements.
• Partner with Heads of Department and senior stakeholders to identify opportunities for data to improve efficiency and performance.
• Support prioritisation of data product backlogs balancing value and feasibility.
• Drive adoption and effectiveness of data products across the business.
• Challenge and improve KPIs, reporting outputs and product functionality.
• Define requirements for improving data quality across reporting and decision-support tools.
• Collaborate with Data Science teams on predictive analytics within products.
• Improve BI capabilities through innovation and best practice.
• Collaborate across Data & Analytics to maximise value of shared tools like Power BI and Databricks.
• Lead engineers and developers providing guidance and support.
