Job summary

Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) is recruiting a data analyst in Swindon to strengthen the Evidence and Evaluation Team. You will develop data driven insights across BBSRC investments using text mining, clustering, network analysis and visualization to inform strategy.

Qualifications

• Strong data analysis skills and reproducible workflows.
• Practical experience in programming languages such as R, Python or SQL.
• Scientific literacy with an interest in the biosciences or related subjects.
• Effective communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to information requests on BBSRC research investments.
• Define and analyse research portfolios using text search and clustering.
• Perform strategic analyses of the UKRI-BBSRC grants portfolio.
• Develop analyses by institution, region or topic.
• Monitor data quality and maintain core classifications.
• Summarise and visualise portfolio data for stakeholders.
