Job summary

Somerset Council is seeking an experienced Agency Resourcing Lead to shape how the authority sources and manages temporary workers. You will oversee contracts, supplier performance and governance, using data to identify trends and drive value across services in Somerset.

You will partner with HR, Procurement and Finance to deliver cost-effective staffing solutions and continuous improvement in temporary labour arrangements.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills to interpret workforce, operational and financial data.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Experience managing contracts, suppliers, and performance within a complex organisation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Council's temporary labour contract and supplier relationships, addressing performance as needed.
• Monitor agency usage, expenditure and workforce data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Produce clear reports and recommendations to support workforce planning and decision-making.
• Collaborate with HR, Procurement and Finance to strengthen governance and value for money.
• Drive initiatives to reduce agency spend and promote sustainable workforce solutions.
