Job summary

Soben, part of Accenture, seeks a Data Centre Project Director to lead multi-phase, campus-scale data centre programmes in Europe, focusing on delivery from inception to commissioning.

You will work across live environments, engage executive stakeholders, and drive governance, risk, and commercial strategy to ensure high-quality outcomes. Based in Birmingham with on-site leadership opportunities.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering large-scale data centre programmes across live environments.
• Proven track record managing programmes typically £250m–£1bn+ in value.
• Strong understanding of data centre design principles and MEP systems.
• Experience overseeing commissioning (Level 1–5) and IST.
• Strong commercial acumen with procurement, cost management, and contract strategy.
• Experience with NEC, JCT, and FIDIC contract forms.
• Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, including executive teams.
• Degree in a relevant discipline; MRICS or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-phase data centre programmes and ensure alignment with governance and methodology.
• Own programme performance across cost, schedule, quality and risk.
• Maintain executive-level client relationships and maximize value.
• Establish governance, reporting, and risk management structures.
• Oversee procurement, cost control, and contract administration.
• Provide commissioning and IST oversight and ensure operational readiness.
• Lead on-site and cross-location delivery with a culture of accountability.
