Job summary

Mott MacDonald seeks an experienced Data Centre Projects Director to lead major data centre developments across the UK and Europe. You will set direction from early planning through construction, commissioning and handover, overseeing multidisciplinary teams and ensuring delivery excellence.

The role requires a strong track record as a senior delivery leader in data centres or critical infrastructure, with governance, risk and client relationship skills. Hybrid working is supported.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading the delivery of large, complex data centre or infrastructure projects.
• Senior delivery leader with track record as Project Director or Programme Director.
• Experience across design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.
• Strong knowledge of governance, programme management, risk management and commercial delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead successful delivery of major data centre projects and programmes with accountability for safety, quality, schedule and client outcomes.
• Act as Project Director or Programme Director on strategically important commissions in UK and Europe.
• Establish governance, reporting routes and assurance reviews for projects.
• Provide leadership across multidisciplinary Buildings teams, aligning mechanical, electrical, structural, civil, architectural inputs.
• Develop delivery strategies, resource plans, schedules and controls for each commission.
• Identify and manage project risks and opportunities; escalate issues early.
• Build strong client, developer, operator and supply chain relationships.
• Chair reviews and ensure actions and decisions are owned.
• Oversee commercial performance, change management and forecasting with project controls.
• Promote best delivery practices and continuous improvement across commissions.
• Support strategic pursuits, proposals and client presentations with delivery insight.
• Mentor project managers and future project directors.
