Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Critical Facilities Technician to join the Data Centre Engineering Operations (DCEO) team in the United Kingdom. You will support operation, monitoring and maintenance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure powering AWS cloud services.

This role requires hands-on maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting in a 24/7 data centre environment. You will work with power distribution, generators, UPS and cooling systems, supervise vendors, follow safety

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in data center engineering or troubleshooting critical infrastructure.
• Electrical or mechanical qualification (apprenticeship, diploma or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Perform planned preventive and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Monitor alarms and system performance using BMS and monitoring tools.
• Assist with fault finding and troubleshooting across infrastructure.
• Supervise vendors performing maintenance on site.
• Follow permit-to-work and safety procedures for all activities.
• Maintain maintenance records and logs.
• Support generator tests and infrastructure failover exercises.
• Participate in incident response during infrastructure events.
