Job summary

Ramboll in the United Kingdom is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer for our data centre group. This role offers flexible Europe-wide location options and focuses on advancing sustainable, high‑performance electrical design for mission critical facilities.

You will develop strategies, lead technical directions, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver optimized power systems. The role combines design excellence with client-facing collaboration, ensuring quality and innovation.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Master’s or BEng Honours degree in electrical or power systems engineering, or equivalent relevant qualification.
• Experience in data centre and mission critical design in the UK and Europe.
• Clear understanding of electrical distribution topologies for data centre designs.
• Flexible attitude in an environment with changing deadlines and responsibilities.
• Knowledge of on-site installation practice and buildability.

Responsibilities

• HV and LV power system design and specification for data centres and mission critical facilities.
• Managing, preparing and producing designs from concept to detail.
• Produce electrical calculations, schedules and specifications.
• Technical evaluation of electrical OEM/contractor equipment.
• Attendance at factory and site acceptance testing and commissioning.
• Site inspections and surveys; coordinate with stakeholders.
• Mentor and develop the electrical team and support project delivery.
