Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Data Centre Shift Engineer to maintain critical building systems at a Croydon site. You will perform planned preventative maintenance, reactive tasks and fault-finding on UPS, generators, HV, PDU, CRAC, and related equipment.

The role requires time-served electrical qualifications, knowledge of BMS systems and safe working practices, and the ability to work shifts. The position involves coordination with CBRE staff and subcontractors on site.

Qualifications

• Time served electrical apprenticeship or equivalent in industrial/manufacturing/commercial/critical environment focusing on operation and maintenance of plant.
• C&G 236 Pt1 & Pt2 or equivalent (min); C&G 2391 (desirable).
• Experience with main distribution boards and ACB switching.
• Experience with UPS operation and generators.
• Knowledge of critical cooling systems, humidity control, and SLA/KPI in critical environments.
• Knowledge of HS requirements: RA, LOTO, PTW.

Responsibilities

• Operate CBRE CermTM processes to mitigate risk to critical plant and equipment.
• Follow EOPs and escalate incidents as needed.
• Carry out routine PPM on mechanical and electrical plant per site schedules.
• Complete reactive tasks and highlight improvement opportunities.
• Ensure plant faults are remedied quickly to keep systems in serviceable order.
• Provide spares lists and timescales for remedial works.
• Complete paperwork for PPM, reactive, and breakdown tasks; liaise with contract administrator.
• Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments for tasks.
• Carry out AP duties and issue permits to work.
