Job summary

CBRE is seeking a DC Shift Technician for the Longcross/Chertsey area. You will provide end-to-end engineering support for client data centre assets, ensuring 100% uptime, safety, and compliant operations.

You’ll act as on-site HV/LV authority out of hours, coordinate permits, and manage a team of engineers and SSPs. The role requires detailed knowledge of building services, PPM planning, risk assessments, and effective handovers to Building Supervisors and Technical Manager.

Qualifications

• Level 3 engineer qualification required.
• HV Authorised Person status required.
• Permit to Work (AP) qualification.
• 18th Edition IEE wiring and installation standard.
• Strong communication skills required.
• Ability to lead a technician team and coordinate tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide sickness and holiday cover for equal shift.
• Manage and control permit systems and safe systems of work.
• Monitor the PPM system and update asset records.
• First point of escalation during your shift.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Oversee HV/LV operations during shift and coordinating SSPs.
• Lead, coordinate and audit engineering team activities.
• Ensure QA across equipment, logs, and handovers.
