Job summary

Verda operates high-density GPU infrastructure across its data center sites, and we are looking for a hands-on Data Center Operations Manager to lead our shift-based technician team and take ownership of day-to-day site operations and the complete hardware lifecycle.

You will maintain high operational standards, build strong working relationships with facility partners, and as the site grows you may hire and grow the team around you.

Qualifications

• Hands-on data-center operations experience in a critical-infrastructure environment.
• Experience leading shift-based technical teams with server hardware expertise.
• Knowledge of copper and fibre installation, and link-level troubleshooting.
• Experience managing deployments, incidents, inventory and priorities.
• Strong operational judgement and ability to document and escalate issues.
• Comfortable operating in ambigous, fast-evolving environments with clear processes.
• Strong people-management skills, including coaching and recruitment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and develop a shift-based team of Data Center Technicians.
• Organise shift coverage, workload, priorities, handovers and daily operations.
• Own hardware lifecycle: receiving, inventory, deployment, break/fix, replacement, relocation, RMAs and decommissioning.
• Ensure safe rack-and-stack, cabling, and link-level troubleshooting.
• Coordinate cluster deployments, capacity expansions and hardware refreshes.
• Lead on-site response to hardware and connectivity incidents with clear documentation.
• Build and improve operating procedures, runbooks and escalation paths.
• Maintain records covering assets, inventory, incidents and maintenance.
• Recruit, onboard and coach technicians as operations grow.
• Monitor provider communications on power, cooling, security and facility events.
• Escalate service or safety concerns to partners and Verda stakeholders.
• Participate in on-call rotation and lead during urgent incidents.
