  • A real chance to make an impact and work alongside world class engineers, researchers, and partners across the global AI ecosystem.
Practicalities
  • Work mode: On-site, 8-hour shift rotation covering 24/7 operations
  • Level: Mid/Senior level
  • Employment type: Full time and permanent
  • Work permit: Please note that we don't currently have visa sponsorship available, and require an existing right to work in the UK.
About The Role

Our site runs high-density GPU infrastructure around the clock, and we are hiring at both Data Center Technician and Senior Data Center Technician levels who can handle the most demanding hardware work on site. This is a hands-on individual contributor role in the shift team. Level of seniority will be determined by your experience, technical capability and the complexity of work you can handle independently.

This is a hands-on, all-rounder role covering server installation, hardware break/fix, rack builds, copper and fibre cabling, link-level troubleshooting and general site operations. You will work independently within your level of responsibility while collaborating closely with other technicians, network engineers, system administrators and wider infrastructure teams. You'll be the person the team turns to for the complex jobs: GPU server installs, tricky diagnostics, repairs others can't crack, and clean, high-quality network cabling at scale.

At the senior level, you will take on more complex technical work, lead the technical execution of deployments and build-outs, mentor junior technicians and help improve operating procedures and technical standards.

Your responsibilities
  • Install, configure, and maintain GPU servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and structured cabling, including high-density and liquid-cooled deployments.
  • Diagnose and repair complex hardware faults on enterprise GPU servers, covering component-level troubleshooting, RMA handling, and root-cause analysis.
  • Perform rack and stack, copper and fibre cabling, and hardware refresh work to a high quality standard.
  • Troubleshoot link-level network faults, from cable and transceiver testing through to isolating the failure, including fibre optics work for switch integration.
  • Monitor data center environmental conditions including temperature, humidity, and power, and respond to alerts during your shifts.
  • Contribute hands-on to build-outs, migrations, and refresh projects as the site grows.
  • Write and improve the SOPs and procedures the site runs on, and mentor junior and mid-level technicians on the shift team.
Your key competencies

We're looking for someone who is hands-on and knows the industry and the hardware in it well. They work without close supervision, find a route through unfamiliar problems, and have an appetite for mentoring and building procedures from scratch.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5+ years of progressive data center or IT infrastructure experience.
  • Direct hands-on experience with enterprise GPU servers (NVIDIA Ampere, Hopper, or Blackwell generations).
  • Ability to operate independently and improvise — you don't need check-ins or supervision to know what matters.
  • Ability to work on-site full-time in shift rotation.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and a broad scope of work
Nice to have
  • Experience with liquid cooling — DLC loops, and maintenance of liquid cooling solutions.
  • Experience leading site build-outs, data hall openings, or large cluster deployments.
  • Experience mentoring or leading junior technicians.
