Job summary

Verda is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to own cooling architecture for high-density AI data centers. You will design CRAC/CRAH, liquid cooling, and set airflow strategies to maximize energy efficiency for GPU and AI racks.

Collaborating with electrical, structural and controls teams, you will deliver an integrated mechanical system. A BS in Mechanical Engineering and 7-10 years of mission-critical cooling experience are required; hybrid work across EMEA is supported.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering is required.
  • 7-10 years in HVAC or mission-critical cooling design.
  • Strong grasp of PUE optimisation and thermal modelling.
  • Experience coordinating across engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Design cooling architecture, including CRAC/CRAH units, chillers, and liquid/direct-to-chip cooling for GPU and AI racks.
  • Define airflow management and hot/cold aisle containment strategy.
  • Perform thermal capacity planning across the facility.
  • Optimise designs for energy efficiency and low PUE.
  • Coordinate with electrical, structural, and controls disciplines to land a single integrated system.
