Job summary

AWS Infrastructure Services seeks a highly motivated Network Technician to deliver hardware, configuration and fiber connectivity across data center projects in the UK. You will work with internal customers and external vendors to ensure smooth project execution with Technical Program Managers.

The role emphasizes installation, troubleshooting of networking hardware and fiber connectivity, and developing scalable network automation ideas within an autonomous, detail-oriented team.

Qualifications

• Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Experience in networking.
• Travel up to 30% of the time.
• Ability to specify power and cooling requirements, participate in hardware racking/stacking, and actively contribute to the migration, basic configuration, and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
• Proficient in network cabling, optic types, and test equipment, including VFL, power meter, and OTDR.

Responsibilities

• Moving and implementing large enterprise equipment
• Installing Fiber and Copper cabling and patching cabling between equipment
• Ensuring proper safety and security standards are maintained during cabling and rack installation
• Following well established hardware installation procedures and break-fix activities
• Safely using material handling tools and equipment
• Traveling within and outside of the regional work area is required. You will be responsible for having a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license to travel within the regional work area, as company transportation will not be provided
