Job summary

Amazon Data Services UK Limited seeks a Data Center Facility Engineer to oversee the operation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical infrastructure in AWS data centers. You will ensure safety procedures are implemented and support continuous availability for customers.

The role requires a proactive, self‑managed individual ready to adapt to rapid operational changes and work across a facilities team to maintain high reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Knowledge of mechanical and HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of electrical competencies and theory.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow highest safety standards and foster a strong safety culture.
• Operate and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment including UPS, switchgear, generators, HVAC systems.
• Troubleshoot events within SLA targets.
• Take daily readings of temperatures, voltages, and currents.
• Supervise contractors performing servicing or preventive maintenance.
• Manual handling and lifting may be required.
• Work shifts (morning, late, night) and on‑call rotation.
