Job summary

QTS Data Centers is seeking a Design Manager, Data Centre Development, to lead design execution for campus and project workstreams. You will coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, contractors, and vendors to deliver design solutions that meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations.

You will manage entitlements, permitting, and site development, draft scopes of work, and support procurement and cost-estimates. Travel up to 25% may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree related to science, engineering, construction management, architecture, or project management.
• 5+ years in commercial construction, design management, development, engineering, or project delivery.
• Experience coordinating design/construction from conception to procurement and closeout.
• Knowledge of Lump Sum, CM at Risk, and Design Build delivery methods.
• Experience coordinating with external consultants, contractors, designers, engineers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Proficient with MS Office and producing project updates in PowerPoint; budgets and schedules in Excel.
• Experience with design/project tools such as Bluebeam, Revit, BIM 360, ACC (or similar).
• Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support design management for campus, site, or project workstreams including budgets, schedules, and status updates.
• Prepare clear project design updates and escalation summaries for leadership decisions.
• Coordinate design input for entitlement, permitting, and site development needs.
• Support multi-phased development design plans to meet time, budget, quality, and predictability goals.
• Draft and review scopes of work for design, construction, commissioning, and related services.
• Assist procurement and cost-estimate activities including proposal reviews.
