Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Data Center Project Manager to lead construction-related activities in AWS data centers, overseeing electrical, mechanical, and building automation scope to improve space, power, and cooling efficiency.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and experience in data centers or critical environments, with strong vendor management and project coordination abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in data center environments or other critical facilities.
• Experience in vendor management and project coordination.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Project management and oversight of construction activities related to modifying existing infrastructure for installing new or replacing end-of-life equipment; manage scope, timeline, and budget.
• Provide project management for initiatives aimed at increasing data center resiliency.
• Electrical design and review of designs to optimize existing data centers.
• Construction/project package drawing review.
• Create project scope, RFPs, and capital requests.
• Ensure commissioning plan and oversee execution for total project quality.
• Record and report key metrics to team members and management.
• Provide operational support including review of procedures and maintenance initiatives.
• Lead teams in troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis of equipment or electrical failures.
• Collaborate with contractors and vendors to deliver efficient project turnovers.
• Be a leader within the group and across internal/external teams.
